HELP YOUR DOG TO LIVE LONGER: Part 5 of 5
5 – Do a Head to Tail inspection regularly. Checking your dog on a regular basis, perhaps once per month, is very important, especially if your dog is very active or you have a Golden Age dog. Check the eyes, teeth and gums, ears and nose. Look for anything abnormal like discharge, swelling and offensive odors. Check your dog’s whole body by massaging and look for anything out of the ordinary, like bruises, cuts and scrapes or raw areas. Check the paws. A dog’s pads should not be cracked and the nails should always be short (here The Pack gets a Nail Clip every two weeks). Also, check the rear end. If your dog is having regular bowel movements, this area should always look clean.
